There are studies that show that children who make art, read better and have a better understanding for science and math. Art helps young children develop both gross and fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are essential for a child's school readiness. In art class, children work on projects to increase imagination and creativity, as well as increase their capacity of memory and attention. Art projects stimulate both sides of the brain. Children are able to use art as another vehicle for communication.
Preschool age children primarily learn through physical and sensory experiences. Dance helps young children develop language, while expanding on emotional, social and cognitive skills. Children gain discipline and focus as they engage in important life skills
We love that drama classes help young children with their oral communication skills. Children learn empathy, listening skills, social skills, and self-discipline, as well as create problem-solving. Acting out emotions helps children who are shy and reserved. Class time provides ideas and suggestions on how to emote and/or control emotions. Poetry in motion, storytelling through acting, and movement exercises are aimed at giving children the tools they need to develop confidence and self-esteem.
Health & Fitness
Physical activity promotes healthy growth and development. We aim to build a healthier body composition, and stronger bones and muscles. Gym classes improve a child's cardiovascular fitness. Children who have a higher level of physical activity are more likely to stay active as they mature.
In our Fine Arts Club, we incorporate obstacle courses, the tumble trax, acrobatics, gymnastics, relays, and fitness games to teach body awareness and strength. We also serve healthy snacks and teach the students about the food they eat, where it comes from, and how and where it grows.
We believe in the whole-body approach to learning. Music and movement classes have shown to improve a child's memory, cognitive development, learning skills and expressive ability. Music integrates physical, cognitive and emotional learning. instruments, singing, melody and rhythm are explored.
ABC'S and 123's - Music and Dance incorporates traditional language to teach timing, spacial awareness and tempo. We go a step further by also introducing sign language from an early age.
Yoga & Meditation
We start our students on a journey of health and wellness from an early age. Yoga physically enhances a child's flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness improves.
Meditation reduces a child's impulsiveness and improves concentration and focus. In our fast-paced, multi-tasking world, it's helpful for children to learn relaxation techniques that can help them slow down, breathe, and clear their minds.
